Obsessive Political Correction?
On Friday May 29, the entire play was performed at another benefit for Global Green from the Santa Monica Bay Women’s Club. “O.P.C.,” the latest from playwright Ensler (“The Vagina Monologues”), is an irreverent exploration of consumption and politics, asking, "How are we to survive as a species if we insist on destroying the world we love? It follows the story of 25-year old dumpster-diving-Freegan, who watches her carbon footprint. When her mother decides to run for U.S. Senate, the green world is sent spinning. Appropriate material for this gathering?

You, too, can attend
The awards event happens Saturday night at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica starting at 8 pm. General admission run $500 and sponsorships can run on up to $5,000 and you can attend Ensler's reading, too on Friday night. Good cause, good fun.
